Is a method used by teachers to teach vocabulary concepts or a language using the physical movements and mimics to create an image in the learner’s mind about what is learning and this can also help them to remember not just the vocabulary, but to remember the concept of what is learning.

This method is used in infants but also can be used in students that are in a higher level, for example the ones that are studying a foreign language. This method can be really helpful for the teacher and for the student, so they can remember and learn faster than using the old methodology of reading and reading until it gets stick in their minds.

It is necessary that the teacher prepares what it’s going to teach with time, so doing it this way, he can find a good way to teach them by the mimics he is going to do and how he will explain it. Also the teacher has to be open mind and does not have to be shy, because this method will imply that he has to do gestures and facial expressions that may seem funny for some students. Total Physical Response (TPR) may be used to teach many types of vocabulary but works best when teaching vocabulary connected with action. It is an effective strategy to use with English Language Learners as well as with native speakers when learning new words.
